Live Frontal Shock – November and December 2024

Choque Frontal ao Vivo returns on November 19 with the premiere of the documentary “Ver As Horas Que São”, followed by the performance of the band “Recante”, the most recent work that brings together Maria João Jones and Luís Caracinha.

In this new musical incursion, they combine their passion for the intangible heritage of the Alentejo with environments created by monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers, digital processing to which are added the percussions and drums of Ruben Salamanca.

Inspired by names like Dead Can Dance, Vangelis, Ereni Papas, Dulce Pontes and a whole legacy of singers in the region, Recante promises to make us feel the warmth of the earth and the fragrances of the plain in a surprising way.

This documentary had its premiere in cinemas “NOS” in Faro and tells us about the tour that the band “Recante” carried out at the end of 2023 and that released their first EP with the same name.

The towns of Faro, Portimão, Loulé, Quarteira, Albufeira, Castro Verde, Almodôvar, Vila Ruiva, Viana do Alentejo, Setúbal, Almada and Óbidos are some of the passages of this tour that you now remember.

In addition to the musicians, members of the technical teams and several personalities participate in this documentary, including Dália Paulo, President of Cineteatro Louletano, Gil Silva, Director of Teatro das Figuras, Júlio Ferreira, programmer and broadcaster, Bruno Oliveira and Marco Constantino, both cultural programmers.

On December 19th, it is the turn of António Cörte-Real, the guitarist of the band UHF and son of António Manuel Ribeiro, to come to Portimão to show his most recent works “Memento” and “Rasgas-me as Chagas”.

These are the first singles from Cörte-Real’s future album of originals, two and a half years after the release of the album “XXV”, acclaimed by critics and fans, with which Cörte-Real toured the country and made known to the world one of the most powerful bands of the new Portuguese Rock.

The album is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025 and will be presented first-hand at Choque Frontal ao Vivo.
